Recent snowfall means 96 km of ski runs can be opened at Baqueira Beret

On Saturday 22 December the Val d’Aran and Valls d’Àneu ski and snowboard resort plans to expand its skiable area to 96 km as a result of the snowfall over recent days. The resort’s four areas are to be opened: Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and Baciver.
Over 50 cm of snow has fallen at Baqueira Beret over the last week. The 30 cm which came on the night of the 13th and in the early morning on the 14th has been joined by the 20 cm of snow on Monday, 17 December. When added to snow production, this good news resulting from just the right weather will make it possible to open 96 km of ski runs across the resort’s four areas: Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and the new Baciver one.
Over the weekend visitors will be able to glide along the 67 itineraries which will be open to the public: 30 ski runs in Baqueira, 20 in Beret, 14 in Bonaigua and 3 in Baciver. Baciver is the resort’s new area which this season has been added to its three customary ones with the installation of the ski lift up to Cap de Baciver, at 2,610 m the resort’s new ‘roof’ and which extends the skiable vertical drop to 1,100 m. The new Baciver area is partly skiable on its eastern side and will be for experts. It has five new red ski runs.
Up to 29 ski lifts will come into service so visitors can get to everywhere at the resort conveniently and quickly without queues. The ski resort’s staff are working hard to make it possible to open more ski runs and ski lifts for the Christmas holidays.

As for eateries, the Bosque restaurant, Parrec d’Orri, the Möet Winter Lounge restaurant, featuring DJ Luca Feller livening up its terrace, 5J Grill Baqueira, Bar Baqueira 1500, the venue with the most après ski atmosphere where DJ Lorena Kej performs on Saturdays, and the panoramic Audi Quattro Bar at Beret are all going to be open. Refugi San Miguel in Bonaigua and the Audeth restaurant in Beret will also be welcoming diners. Plus in the Hotel Montarto area visitors can call in at the Winebar by Viña Pomal, Borda Lobato and the Drinkery bar.

22 December – Marató TV3
Once again Baqueira Beret is supporting the Marató de TV3: on Saturday 22 December it will host a charity ski and snowboard race at Beret Stadium. The entire registration fee (€15) will be added to the funds raised for researching and combating cancer.
