Health and safety measures for COVID-19

Baqueira Beret, safe destination

COVID is not a danger for skiers: the fact that it is done outdoors, in wide open spaces and in the heart of nature, is the greatest guarantee of safety.

In order to guarantee the well-being of our visitors and employees, and ensure that the skiing season proceeds as normal, Baqueira Beret applies the recommendations and measures decreed by the health authorities. In this respect:

  • Masks must be worn in all parts of the resort when it is not possible to maintain a distance of 1.5 m between non-cohabiting individuals.
  • Masks must be worn in queues and on the ski-lift routes when it is not possible to maintain a distance of 1.5 m between non-cohabiting individuals.

General rules at the resort

  • Wearing a mask is compulsory.

  • Keep a safe distance from others.

  • Use hand sanitisers.

  • Regular disinfection.

  • Remember to be kind and respectful to others at all times.

  • Pay by card whenever you can throughout the resort.

  • Pin your BaqueiraPASS or BaqueiraTICKET on the left sleeve of your jacket for fast access to areas and lifts.

Information point and customer service

  • Avoid information point whenever possible.

    Recharge your ski passes online or by using the BaqueiraPASS and BaqueiraTICKET apps.

  • The information point have the entrance and exit clearly signposted, and equipped with hand sanitiser and safety screens.

  • Safe distancing measures between clients when queuing at the information point.

  • Pay by card whenever you can throughout the resort.

Lift protocol

  • Most of the lifts at the resort are open air chair and ski lifts where the client is always outdoors in the fresh clean air. In the cable cars the windows are open to ensure the flow of clean air.

  • Thanks to skis and snowboards, people naturally have to keep a certain distance from each other. In addition, Baqueira Beret will measure out the distance between skiers and queues will be organised so that clients will keep a safe distance.

  • To ease the ticket checking, pin your BaqueiraPASS or BaqueiraTICKET on the left sleeve of your jacket.

  • All the ski lifts will be working to full capacity.

Ski lift use

  • Wearing a mask will be obligatory when queueing for lifts and while using them when it is not possible to maintain a distance of 1.5 m between non-cohabiting individuals.

  • Standard safety measures require that skiers leave the landing zone quickly as soon as they have arrived. Once off the lift, skiers and snowboarders have ample open spaces to do this.

  • The average time spent on a ski lift is about 7 minutes, considerably shorter than most journeys on other forms of transport, such as buses, undergrounds, trains and planes. The chair lifts move at a speed of between 2.5 and 5 metres per second depending on the type and the distance between vehicles is between 15 and 30 metres.

  • Hygiene measures will be stepped up and all ski lifts will be regularly cleaned with disinfectant.

Bars and restaurants

  • All bars, cafés, restaurants and terraces in the resort will combine the use of physical cards and QR codes.

    An online service for ordering and paying will be introduced to avoid queuing. Eat in or Take away.

    We recommend advanced booking for à la carte restaurants (Restaurant 5 Jotas, Restaurant Bonaigua, Moët Winter Lounge, Pla de Beret and Borda Lobató).

    Self Service and Free Flow will no longer be available. All orders and payments will be managed at the table using QR codes.

    Choice on the menu will be reduced in an effort to shorten waiting time and time spent in establishments.

    COVID passport. To eat or drink inside cafes and restaurants, customers over 12 years old must present a UE COVID certificate (COVID passport).

  • Cleaning and sanitising using chemical products for COVID-19.

Ski Service and hire

  • Online service for reserving equipment in advance.

    If you have not reserved in advance, an online service will be available for being attended in the hire service establishment, capacity permitting.

  • Social distancing in Ski Service centres and shops.

  • Hire equipment, ski lockers and privately-owned repaired equipment are all disinfected after every use.

Hotel Montarto

  • Flexible cancellation of booking for reasons due to COVID-19.

  • Fast online check-in and check-out service, avoiding unnecessary use of paper and guest waiting at reception.

  • Advanced booking when using any of the Hotel’s services and facilities.

  • Sanitising plans checked and updated using chemical products for COVID19.

Children’s parks - Baqueira SnowCAMP

  • All children over 6 must wear a mask.

  • Limited entrance. Reserve online in advance at least 5 days before you intend to use the park.

  • Hand hygiene.

  • All belongings disinfected before entering the parks.

  • Temperature monitoring (no one will be allowed into the park with a temperature of 37.5ºC or higher).

    No one will be allowed in showing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

Parking

  • Contactless payment available at payment machines in the Cable car parking area.

  • Limited capacity in lifts at the Cable car parking area.

  • All children over 6 must wear a mask.

Meeting points in clubs and ski schools

Improved spacing at meeting points of ski schools and clubs in the resort.

Viajes Baqueira Beret

  • No need to visit our offices: all documentation will be delivered to your accommodation, and bookings can be managed by mail, telephone or whatsapp. Payments made by card.

  • All Viajes Baqueira accommodation is guaranteed to comply with current health and safety regulations.

Apartarent

  • Masks must be worn in common areas, and will be worn by Apartarent staff at all times.

  • The cleaning and maintenance staff will wear masks and gloves, and gloves will be changed for each apartment.

    Hand sanitiser is available to clients at the reception and in common areas.

  • Revised and updated disinfection plans and actions include:

    • Use of anti-virus disinfectants for COVID-19.
    • Ventilation and disinfection during room cleaning.
    • Disinfection and protection of objects delivered to the client.
    • Removal of decoration or non-essential items which are in frequent contact or use.

  • Fever or feverishness (37.5 °C or above)
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat **
  • Cold in the nose **
  • Fatigue, aching muscles and/or headache
  • Stomach ache with vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Loss of smell or taste (older children and adolescents)

** As sore throats and colds in the nose (with or without mucus) are very common in children, they should only be considered potential symptoms of COVID-19 when accompanied by fever or other symptoms in the list.
